Overview of mountain biking route:

The MTB route Crikvenica – Grižane – Bribir is situated at northern Adriatic coast. Crikvenica is one of the famous tourist center with many interesting places situated few kilometers from the coast. The route starts in Crikvenica and leads to the hinterland along Love Path and near Badanj fortress. The original Love Path (Ljubavna Staza) was designed by famous forester engineer Ante Premužić. The path was built around 1930 year and renewed during last few years. During summer, spring and fall many people hike on Love Path. Be patient and do not ride fast on Love Path section. From Grižane fortress the trail leads to Pridva and Slipica sight points and than to Bribir. All singletrack and carriageway sections are dry and rocky. Due to many unlabeled junctions the GPS unit with the uploaded route is a must for fast and safe navigation.

Description of MTB route:

The starting point of the mountain bike route is Crikvenica. Just near the church on the hill there is the labeled path named Love Path (Ljubavna Staza). Proceed on Love path to Badanj fortress. From Badanj fortress the trail leads near the first sight point and than to the sight point named Kavranova Stena. To visit Kavranova Stena laeve the bicycle in the forest and hike few hundred meters to Kavranova Stena. The next section descends along the rocky singletrack to Dramalj. From Dramalj proceed on the paved road and singletrack to Crikvenica. In Sopaljska hamlet turn left at Love Path again. Ride on Love path to the north course, pass and descend next to Badanj fortress to the paved road. Proceed on the paved road to Grižane village. Just above Grižane there is Grižane fortress. From Grižane fortress proceed to the north just near the church in Belgrad village. Descend to the paved road and than proceed on the long paved section via Antovo village to Pridva sight point. From Pridva continue to ride on the paved road to the first labeled junction. Keep right and after about 50 meters turn right again on the wide carriageway that leads to south east course. The long carriageway section is placed on the plateau named Podolje. Pass near the water tank and proceed to ride on the carriageway. Keep the ride on GPS tracklog. At the cross with the paved road turn right and after about 300 meters visit the labeled Slipica sight point. Descend on the paved road for about 1.5km and then turn right on the rocky trail that leads to Bribir. The path is very steep and rocky. The path turns into the paved road just few hundred meters before Bribir. From Bribir proceed on the paved road to the north west course. After about 5km turn sharp left to Sv Ana church. From the church descend on the rocky singltrack to the south west course. Pass the bridge over Malenica stream and ascend to the saddle. Due to steep ascent count to hike 200 meters with the bike. From the saddle the rocky singletrack descends to the unpaved section just back to Crikvenica. For more details check above interactive Map and below Gallery & Notes of the route.
