Veliko Rujno is the plateau situated on the South Velebit at elevation of 900m over the sea level. Some parts of the area belong to the protected National Park Paklenica. The plateau is situated between Višerujna and Bojinac summits. There are many trails on Veliko Rujno. The navigation is easy because the plateau is surrounded with the all time visible summits. The riding off the singletracks is also possible. The trail is dry and rocky with a long hiking section from Veliki Vaganac to Veliko Rujno.

The starting point of the mountain bike route is the crossroad in Starigrad. Just follow the sign Veliko Rujno. The paved road with a steep ascent follows to the Dokoze village and than continues to saddle between Mali and Veliki Vaganac. At the end of the paved road there is a resting place and parking place for cars. From the resting place to Veliko Rujno plateau there is a labeled singletrack for hiking only. It could take around 90 minutes to carry and hike with the bike (check bellow note). The ride is possible in the section Veliki Vaganac but only few hundred meters. From Veliki Vaganac follows the steep ascent to the plateau. On Veliko Rujno plateau there are few tracks and you can ride on all of them. First go to the centre of the plateau. There is  the church of Sveta Bogorodica with the resting place. Near the church there is a water tank. From the church there are labeled singletrack in the direction to Stražbenica saddle and to the Malo Rujno plateau. To go back use the same trail.
