Platak – Guslica mountain bike route is situated in the north west Croatia in the area named Gorski Kotar. Guslica is the peak at elevation of 1.490 meters over the sea level. The ruins of the house and military radio relay station are situated on Guslica peak. From Guslica peak you can get a nice view on Bay of Rijeka and mountains in Gorski Kotar, Ćićarija and Učka areas. Platak is the skiing centre in Gorski Kotar at elevation of 1.000 meters over the sea level. All the trail is dry and rocky. There are no springs of drinking water near the trail.

The starting point of the mountain bike route is the crossroad near Platak skiing centre and Sušak Hut. At the crossroad keep right and proceed on the carriageway named Rimska Cesta. The steep ascent leads to the saddle named Rimska Vrata.  From the saddle leads a descent to the crossroad. Keep left and proceed to the valley named Lazac. From  Lazac you can get a nice view on Risnjak, Snježnik and Guslica peaks. From  Lazac ride back to the last crossroad and keep straight on the unpaved road towards Gornje Jelenje. This is the long trail between Snježnik and Risnjak peaks. On few sections the unpaved road turns into the paved road.  At the crossroad turn right on the paved road to Platak. After about 2.1 km there is a junction. Turn left on the hard visible carriageway overgrown in the grass. The steep descent leads to the north saddle of Vela Pliš peak. From the saddle proceed on the labeled hiking trail to Štab area. This short rocky section is hard for ride on XC bike. Štab area is the lowest elevation point of the route. At the crossroad near Štab turn right on the paved road to Platak. At the next crossroad turn left on the unpaved road. Keep left on the next crossroad to reach west section near the Kuk peak. Turn left from the trail and take a nice view on Bay of Rijeka. From the vantage point ride to the north course. On the next 3 crossroad keep right, left than right until you reach the crossroad for Guslica (left) and Platak area (right).  To visit Guslica peak turn left at the crossroad and after 400 meters on the next crossroad turn right near the ramp. The steep ascent leads to the ruined military house and radio relay station on Guslica peak. From Guslica ride back to the last crossroad, turn left and keep straight to Platak.
