Overview of mountain biking route:

Povlja is the village situated on the east coast of  Brač. This is circular route with the start and end point in Povlja. The main section of the trail is the carriageway. First half of the trail is a gradually ascent. There are no many ups and downs. The route can be combined with the Sumartin and Selca – Kaštil routes. The trail is dry and rocky.




 
Getting there: Europe, Croatia, Split, Island Brač, Supetar, Povlja or Split, Makarska, Island Brač, Sumartin, Povlja. The ferryboat line is between Makarska – Sumartin and Split – Supetar.

Description of MTB route:




 

The starting point of the mountain bike route is near the post office in the center of Povlja village. Follow the steep road behind the post office and along the coast. First few meters the road is paved and than leads unpaved road along the bay. After the bay the trail is steep with a long ascent. On the first junction turn left. The unpaved road turns into the carriageway. On the next two junctions turn left and you will reach the crossroad with the paved road. Turn left on paved road and after about 100 meters on the next crossroad turn left on unpaved road to Novo Selo village. After few kilometers the trail passes near the quarry. Proceed to Novo Selo village. At the end of the village near the electric substation turn left. After about hundred meters the road turns into the carriageway. The carriageway leads back to Povlja. On the junction, turn left and after about 10 meters right. Proceed on the carriageway and on the next crossroad turn right. This part of the trail is mixed carriageway & single track with a steep descent and many rocks on the trail. The carriageway ends in Povlja near the starting point. Notes & references:

The route is recommended during all seasons. During summer time is very hot climate, plan the route for morning or evening. UST tires with the sealant and GPS with uploaded route are recommended. With The Map of The Island of Brač the routes can be easy combined.
