Overview of mountain biking route:

Markuševac is the suburb in the north east area of Zagreb. The extension of street named Mrzljak known as Markuševački Makadam is a good access point to the ridge of Medvednica mountain. The gradually climb is fast and easy. At the end of the trail there is Hunjka Hut. The hut is situated on the ridge and from that point there are many trails in different directions. The route can be combined with Gornja Trnava – Hunjka, The ridge of Medvednica and Markuševac – Trnava routes.

Description of MTB route:

The starting point of the mountain bike route is the place where paved road turns into unpaved road in Mrzljak street in Markuševac. The first section leads near the quarry and than near the former mine. After around 4.4km there is the junction with the hiking trail for Njivice. Proceed straight on Markuševački Makadam to the next crossroad for around 1.5km. This is the crossroad with the trail coming from Markuševačka Trnava. Keep left and proceed on unpaved road. After about 2 km follows the section with the gradually descent 1km long. Then follow the ascent 1km long ending with the crossroad. Turn left and proceed to Hunjka Hut. There is the resting place on the left side of the road and near the Hunjka Hut. For more details check Interactive Map and Photo Gallery of the route.
