Zavižan is the summit in North Velebit. Zavižan Hut and Zavižan meteorological station are situated near the summit Vučjak. The end point of Zavižan Classic route is Zavižan Hut at the elevation of 1.594m over the see level. The starting point of the route is Sveti Juraj village at the Adriatic coast. The trail is mixture of paved and unpaved road. During first half of the trail there is a open view on Adriatic coast and islands. This section and the section near Hut are exposed to the strong wind named Bura. Before the ride check the weather report for this area. The length and elevation gain are specified for one way direction from Sveti Juraj to Zavižan Hut only. The route can be combined with Vratnik – Oltare and Otočac – Kuterevo – Zavižan Hut routes.

The starting point of the mountain bike route is Sveti Juraj village. The village is situated near the Adriatic coast. From the main crossroad in the village follows the paved road above the village to the north course. The ascent is smooth and paved road continues to elevation around 600 meters over the see level. Before the village Samardžije there is a crossroad. Turn right on unpaved road. In the village keep right too. The unpaved road continues to Rakita valley. From Rakita valley to Oltare village there is a paved road again. There is a hut in Oltare village. On the crossroad in Oltare village turn left for Krasno and after around 250 meters turn right on paved road in the direction to Zavižan and National Park Northern Velebit. The paved road section is long around 5.5 km. Just follow the signs for Zavižan. At elevation around 1.100 meters the unpaved road continues to Zavižan. At Babića Siča Hut there is the entrance into National Park Northern Velebit. The ascent is smooth all the way to Hut. Around 700m before Hut there is the crossroad near the chapel.
