The route Vratnik – Oltare is situated on North Velebit mountain in the area named Senjsko Bilo. The circular shaped route is fast and easy. The trail is mix of paved and carriageway roads. Unpaved road sections are dry and rocky. The elevation range of the route is from 700m to 1300m over the see level. There are many ups and downs on the trail but most of them are smooth. During springtime there are many unique flowers. Preserve the nature. First half of the trail is placed along the forest. After 22km there is Oltare village. Riding back from Oltare to Vratnik saddle is the most beautiful part of the trail. The view is opened at the west and most of the time you can get the view on Adriatic coast and islands. The route can be combined with Zavižan Classic and Senj – Kolovratske Stijene routes.

The starting point of the mountain bike route is Vratnik saddle. Leave the highway on unpaved road in the west direction. There is a ramp at the beginning of the unpaved road. After around 100 meters the unpaved road turns into paved road. Proceed straight for around 7.5 km and on the crossroad turn sharp right on the paved road. After 1.3 km you will see the forest’s hut on the right side of the trail. Proceed straight and after about 0,8 km the road turns into unpaved road. After about 3 km there is the brake of the section along the forest and on the right side is opened view to the Adriatic coast and islands. Proceed straight and unpaved road turns into paved road again. Reset the trip counter. After about 2,3 km proceed straight on the next crossroad, than after 1.2 km on the next crossroad proceed straight and after 0.4 km there is a crossroad again. Turn sharp right and proceed next 1.5 km to the next crossroad. Turn right and proceed 2.9 km and than turn right again. After around 0.95 km turn right again and proceed next 2.5 km to the crossroad with the highway Krasno – Oltare. Turn right on the crossroad and proceed to Oltare village. On the main crossroad in Oltare village turn right onthe paved road to Biljevine and proceed to the crossroad at the entrance into Rakita village. Turn left and don’t ride into the village. The trail proceeds to the north and on the right side there is Rakita valley. At the end of the valley there is the crossroad for Tuževac village. Turn left to descent and after around 100m the road turns into unpaved road. After about 1.1 km keep right on the junction and proceed to north course. The trail follows the ridge and on the left side the view is opened to the Adriatic coast. Follow the labels to Jakovljevići village. Just near the village the trail turns into paved road again. In the village on the crossroad follow the label to Vratnik and proceed on unpaved road again. The trail proceeds to north and after about 6 km you will be back at the starting point at Vratnik saddle. For more details check above Interactive Map and Photo Gallery of the route.
