Sošice – Ječmište route is situated on Žumberak mountain in the west area of Croatia. Ječmište plateau is the area on the ridge of Žumberak at elevation point of around 950 meters over the sea level. This circular route can be combined with Sošice – Sveta Gera and Sošice – Radatovići routes. Jazovka monument is near the trail. Due to steep ascent on some sections hiking of about few hundred meters is needed. Most of the singletrack sections are very easy for the ride but be warned on the steep descent section from the Ječmište plateau to the west. Near the trail there is Vodice Hut . The hut is opened during weekends.

The starting point of the mountain bike route is the crossroad in Sošice village. Follow the direction for Sopote village. Near the trail there is Jazovka monument. On the next crossroad turn right. The paved road proceeds to Sopote village. At the end of Sopote village the paved road turns into unpaved. After few hundred meters at the labeled crossroad you can turn left and visit Sopot waterfall. Proceed on the main unpaved road. The trail passes through Tomaševci village. On the next crossroad turn left on the paved road for Petričko Selo village. In Petričko Selo turn left from the paved road to the unpaved road. After few hundred meters on the crossroad keep right and proceed straight for about 3,5 km. On the labeled crossroad turn left on the labeled carriageway and the singletrack. Just follow the red/white hiking labels and you will reach Ječmište plateau. On some sections you will have to hike on with the bike. From the labeled junction at the highest elevation point follow the hiking labels for Vodice Hut. The steep descent leads to the crossroad with the carriageway, turn right and proceed on the labeled carriageway towards Vodice Hut. The carriageway turns into singletrack. The ascent leads along the meadows. The labeled track is hard visible in the grass. Keep west course. On this crossroad keep straight, do not turn left on the hiking trail. After few hundred meters you will reach the unpaved road. Turn left and proceed to Vodice Hut. After few hundred meters on the next crossroad keep left again. The descent section on unpaved road leads to Vodice Hut. Near the hut there is a spring of drinking water. From the hut proceed on unpaved road back for Sošice village.
