Overview of mountain biking route:
The mountain bike route Gornji Kosinj – Mali Rajinac is situated in North Velebit mountain. Gornji Kosinj village is situated at the coast of river Lika. Mali Rajinac is the highest peak of Northern Velebit mountain and this is the highest elevation point of the route. From Mali Rajinac you can get the view to all Norther Velebit peaks and some Adriatic Islands can be seen too. Due to steep ascent and rocky trail on some singletrack sections you can hike only. The downhill ride on the singletrack section is technically demanding and very risky. As the safe option you can leave the bike in the forest and hike to Mali Rajinac peak without bike. The rest of the route is placed on the carriageways, unpaved and paved roads. All the trail is dry and rocky. The route can be combined with Otočac – Kuterevo – Zavižan Hut route.
Getting there: Europe, Croatia, leave the new highway Zagreb – Split at exit Perušić. In Perušić turn right to Otočac and than proceed to Gornji Kosinj village.
