Overview

Krupa Monastery

The MTB trail Kuda's Bridge (Kudin Most) is situated on Southern Velebit mountain near Krupa river and Crnopac summit. The starting point of the route is Krupa Monastery. Kuda's Bridge (Kudin Most) is situated in Krupa canyon. The descent section to Kuda's Bridge (Kudin Most) is very rocky. The bridge was built at the end of 18th century as the link between Golubić and Žagar villages. Be warned the short ascent section from Kuda's Bridge to the south course is placed on very steep bridle and unlabeled path for hiking & carrying the bike only! At the south side of the Krupa canyon there is the new unpaved road built in 2010 so the road is not presented in Google Earth yet. The trail is dry and rocky. The route can be combined with Krupa - Tremzina route.

Description of MTB route

The rocky path

The starting point of the mountain bike route is Krupa Monastery. From Krupa Monastery proceed on the paved road to Golubić village (north west course). The ascent leads near Krnjeza canyon. In the village, near the school there is the labeled junction, turn left on the labeled paved road to Kuda's Bridge (Kudin Most). The descended section leads to Krupa river canyon. Keep the ride to the end of the paved road. At the end of the paved road turn right on the rocky path that leads to Kuda's Bridge (Kudin Most). The steep descent in few turns ends at Kudas's Bridge (Kudin Most). Pass the bridge and proceed straight on the rocky and steep bridle path to the south course. It's hard section. You will have to carry the bike on the steep and unlabeled path. The path leads to the new unpaved road. First keep the ride on the new unpaved road to the west course. The road ends few hundred meters before Krupa river catchment into Zrmanja river. Leave the bike at the end of the unpaved road and hike few hundred meters to west to visit the sightseeing point of Krupa & Zrmanja canyons. Ride back on the new unpaved road to the east course. At the junction with the paved road turn left and proceed to Krupa village. In the village turn right just before water filling station and proceed on the rocky path to visit the spring of river Krupa. Ride back and at the end of Krupa village there is the junction. Turn right on the rocky carriageway that leads back to Krupa Monastery. The carriageway is placed on the left side of Krupa river.

Ti se očito držiš mota: ako ne nosiš bike, kao da nisi niti vozio ;-)

Zaintrigirao me Crnopac, pa sam gledao malo na GE. Našao sam i i dalje Veliki Crnopac, no po slikama (Vida Pogačnika, koga drugog), ne izgleda baš bike-friendly.

Lijep je kanjon Krupe. Spustiti se do Kudinog Mosta je lako, ako ti se ne vozi onda možeš prošetati, no na drugoj strani mosta slijedi kozja staza do izlaska iz kanjona. Tu treba nositi (cca 15 minuta), a kad se izađe onda se gura (cca 10 minuta) do nove ceste koja se meni neplanirano pojavila i nema je još u GE. Vodi skroz do ušća Krupe u Zrmanju i pogled je izvanredan ma gdje bio. Čini mi se da netko planira ovom novom slijepom cestom omogućiti dolazak turista do ovih krajeva, a onda slijedi i komercijalizacija svega, sada je sve još nedirnuto.

Na Crnopcu sam bio do sad uvijek pješke, za bicikl bi se dalo cestom, pa stazom otići do Tatekovog skloništa, ali dalje slijedi samo povratak nazad (slijepo crijevo), odnosno može se nadopuniti sa turom prema Čelavcu (Duboke Jasle) pa dalje prema zapadu. Crnopac je vrlo krševit i u pitanju su sati, a ne minute, dakle mislim da nema smisla biciklom po vrhovima Crnopca ni po kojoj strani. Osim ako nije nikla opet neka nova cesta ;-). Inače je to kraj gdje sam vidio najviše poskoka do sada, ljeti ih ima zaista puno i medju njima ima zaista pravih kapitalaca.
